Fall Foliage collage
momo&cashew
Fall art project that's easy and fun to do!
Leaves are falling all around us, so we picked a few on our way home and decided to turn it into a collage.
We used all "fall themed" accents on our collage, we even printed an image of a squirrel to help us start the project.
Here's what we used (and supplies bought from the pharmacy):
- leaves picked from trees in our neighborhood
- Elmer's Glue
- scissors
- sturdy paper (board paper 22"x28")
- almonds (from our pantry at home- walnuts are another option)
- dried cranberries (from our pantry at home)
- colored pencils (we used Derwent watercolor pencils)
Using all kinds of techniques to keep project going - remembering that if there are too many steps, or if we have to wait for something to dry, then the kids lose interest.
- We placed the leaves and glued them. While those were drying, we cut out the squirrel, and the girls drew their birds on separate paper, cut and colored them.
- Then we decided how to place them onto our board, and filled in the rest.
- Both girls had artist input on where things went, and collaborated in the final product.
- Big sister Lily colored the page in with the colored pencils and Little sister Bella used a wet paintbrush to blend in the strokes.
We sat down three separate days to work on this project.
Every time we came back to it the girls were excited to work on it.
